
Lutron, the company behind the popular dimmer switch from the ’60s, is working on an iPhone app that will allow its respective users to control the lights in their home from the comfort of their iPhone/iPod Touch. As expected, the future app which will be available in January, will boast iPhone-like easy to use interface, allowing users to control how bright they want it to be from across the room.
While the application will be available free of charge, wireless modules for the lighting in one’s home costs several hundreds or even thousands of dollars. In that sense, it’s far from being free — rather it’s a bonus for those rich enough to have such lights in their homes…
