Review : Dead Space for Xbox 360 and PS3

Dead SpaceScore: 95% Zero-G Splatter-Tastic

The new creative and creepy horror science fiction action thiller Dead Space might just be the game that you want to curl up with on a long cold October evening. The giant mining space ship the USG Ishimura is a pretty creepy haunted house that is full of all sort of freaky things that go bump in the dark.

Review : Fable 2 for Xbox 360

Box Art - Standard Edition FrontI was a little bit giddy when unwrapping my copy of Fable 2 for the Xbox 360. This is the follow up to the insanely ambitious fantasy action adventure role-playing game Fable for the Xbox. This game is set five hundred years after the world of Fable and the fantasy European world of Albion has evolved in complexity and detail in every measure of the word.

Review : Rock Band 2 for Xbox 360

Rating : 99% These go up to eleven!
Rock Band 2 Box
Rock Band 2 is brain child of music game developer Harmonix, published by MTV Games and distributed by EA. This game builds upon the concepts established with the original Rock Band. It is not a totally new game but rather Rock Band "two point zero". It really is so much evolution that is is a revolution.

BBQ's Top 5 Fond Memories of PAX '08

Being CEO of the website, I thought it important to relate what I personally found to be the most exciting at PAX '08. Never mind all the jibber-jabber that my lazy underling has written, here's what really counts.

1. Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia

Review : Viva Pinata : Trouble in Paradise for Xbox 360

Vivapinata2boxRating : 91% Still filled with fun.

Viva Pinata : Trouble in Paradise for Xbox 360 is a follow up to the original interactive cartoon pinata garden simulator game made by the creative geniuses at Rare. It is sort of a resource management game like Sim City but you are trying to manage a garden in order to raise a vast plethora of cartoon living pinata creatures.

Review : Top Spin 3 for Nintendo Wii

Rating : 82%

Top Spin 3 is a pretty darn well put together serious tennis game and the Nintendo Wii version take full advantage of the intuitive motion sensitive controls to put together a pretty good interactive tennis experience. I know that I am not the biggest sports game player but I've found that Wii Sports tennis is too darn simple to be fun for more than a few minutes. Rather than the cartoon approach of Sega All Stars Tennis and Wii Sports this is a hands down all out sports simulation.

Preview : N+ for PlayStation Portable

Nplus%20Box.jpgN+ is a brilliant independent game that is making it’s way to the PSP later this month. I’ve been having fun kicking the tires of a test version of the game. It is a simple to learn, easy to pick up action puzzle game but it gradually gets more complex and challenging. It requires you to use both split second timing and focused logic to solve some of the more advanced puzzles.

Digital Shopping List/Recorder makes shopping h-itech and a lot easier

Smartshopper

Those grocery lists. We have to write them every week. Milk, eggs, butter, yada yada yada. But what if you could just speak into a mic and have something print out for you? That way you can make your list while on the fly without having the fridge open or sticking your head into the pantry and then writing stuff down. I hate writing stuff down! But with the Electronic SmartShopper Grocery List Maker, you have one less list to write. It really couldn’t be easier.
