MS Exchange Exec to take over Windows Mobile Development

Terry Myerson, the Microsoft executive that has overseen development of Exchange communications server software for the past 7 years will take over the development of Windows Mobile. Development of Win-Mo had been rumored to be in turmoil lately. Myerson will become corporate vice president of the mobile communications product group, and will replace corporate vice president Todd Warren. Warren is to stay on at Microsoft as corporate vice president of technical strategy.

Microsoft Faced with a Class Action Suit over RRoD


 

The notorious Red Ring of Death (RRoD) which has hounded Xbox 360 for quite a long time has finally got a legal recognition. A class action suit has been filed in California against Microsoft alleging them of selling defective consoles in order to compete with PS3 and Wii.

The lawsuit cites articles from various publications where the RRoD was already reported and says that Microsoft already knew as many as 50% of the consoles were vulnerable with the overheating problem.

Denied! Microsoft Tries to Quash Blu-Ray Drive Rumors


Microsoft is trying hard to keep people from believing that the release of an external Blu-ray drive for the X-Box 360, priced at between $100 and $150 is imminent; despite widespread whisperings that suggest otherwise. Microsoft added to its line up this week a new laser desktop set to help increase productivity amongst all you Windows users out there. It is called the Wireless Laser Desktop 6000 and it prices around $100.

The Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 6000 includes Microsoft’s Wireless Laser Mouse 6000. It is described as “a full-size mouse with a right-handed ergonomic design that features a snap-in transceiver .” Included with this mouse is a the Wireless Keyboard 6000, Windows Aero-inspired keyboard which offers Microsoft’s Comfort Curve ergonomic layout with included six-degree curve.
