Here’s a really cool “robot” that is also a CNC machine to make different shape and sizes of “stuff” for you.

In a cool use of search data, Google’s philanthropic arm is tracking queries on illness and correlating it with geolocation data to trend flu activity in the US. The idea here is to try to predict flu trends faster than the CDC normally does based on their methodology. Google in turn works with the CDC to make this data available and useful.

You can find out how this all works by visiting Google’s Flu Trends site.

BTW, you can even download the raw data and toy with it yourself if you’d like.

Sony has recently released the Sony Ericsson W705 which features a few cool innovative features. The basic specs are none too special, featuring a 320x240 TFT display, 120MB of onboard storage with Memory Stick Micro support, along with WiFi and 3G capabilites and bundled headphones.

According to the movies, books, video games, comics, toys etc. the real R2-D2 was a true jack-of-all-trades, but I don’t think he had the one feature that I’m sure most people look for in a droid; the ability to keep a single canned beverage cool. So even if you’ve already plunked down a stack of republic credits for your own astromech droid, you’ll still need to pick up this miniature USB powered version if you want to keep your drinks cool.

Like many guys my age that grew up on video games and now have the money to buy what they want to satisfy the need for gaming, I am always on the lookout for something new and cool. I have force feedback controllers and the like, but what I really want is a full-motion simulator for driving and flying games. You can get them now, but they are much more expensive than I am interested in paying.

I was browsing through YouTube early today and I came across some really cool videos. And one of the most interesting videos that I found was this one about how you can create your very own solar USB charger. And that is why I have decided to share this with you.

So come to think of it, you would not have to shell out money so that you can purchase your very own charger. Now, if you have the right materials which you can possibly find in and around your own home, you can go ahead and make this solar charger. Just imagine all the money you would be saving.

Just like in the video, this charger could be used to juice up various gadgets like mobile phones and MP3 players. It’s really cool, right?
