Blackberry Storm with Touch Screen

Egad, we haven't mentioned the BlackBerry Storm yet. In case you've been on Mars, the Storm is RIMM's long-awaited just-released entry into the touch-screen phone market, available only with Verizon.

This will be is a shock to BlackBerry devotees, but the Storm is the first BlackBerry without a real keyboard. Instead, like the iPhone, its keyboard is virtual--only the Storm has a technical twist that is supposed to give you something like a real keyboard tactical experience.

Verizon BlackBerry Storm for $99!

The Verizon BlackBerry Storm is burning up the intertubes with haters and enthusiasts championing their position on the first BlackBerry handset to sport a touchscreen - a “SurePress” touchscreen, no less. With all the hype surrounding the BlackBerry Storm, Verizon is no doubt having a hard time keeping up with demand at the official $199 price point.

But, what if the BlackBerry Storm was priced at $99? Surely, the Storm would fly off proverbial shelves like canned foods on the eve of Y2K.

Video Review: Stuart Miles of MegaWhat Goes Hands-On with the Vodafone BlackBerry Storm

The folks over at MegaWhat have gone hands-on with the Vodafone BlackBerry Storm. If it seems as though we’ve been bombarded with video reviews of the Storm this past week… it’s because we have! Don’t expect this to be the last either, I predict more and more videos to pop up this coming week.

In the video, Stuart Miles of MegaWhat takes a closer look at the Vodafone BlackBerry Storm, demonstrates the touch and press-to-click features of the device… and actually manages to get a few jabs in on the iPhone, which he probably isn’t a huge fan of.

Enough talk. Check out the video above and let me know what you think.

BlackBerry Storm training manual leaks

The OS hasn’t change that much, but this doc provides all the key points about Verizon’s imminent BlackBerry Storm. One of the key tidbits here is around page 38, which shows off Desktop Manager 4.7, which will be the PC-side software for the BlackBerry Storm. Confirmed therein is the Rhapsody support tied in with Verizon’s V CAST music service. This was rumoured a long time ago, but we hadn’t heard much of it since… we’ll have to see it in action here at the BlackBerry Developer Conference to see

Fresh BlackBerry Storm videos

Some press videos of the BlackBerry Storm have been dug up so you can see RIM’s first touchscreen device in action with e-mailing, calling, GPS, and web browsing. They also show the SIM card loading for the Vodafone GSM version. These will have to do until I can get my hands on one properly here at the BlackBerry Developer Conference, but sit tight… all in good time.

See BlackBerry Storm twirl. Twirl, BlackBerry Storm, twirl!

Lusted-for as the iClone that isn't just phoning it in, RIM's BlackBerry Storm now has its very own product page thanks to international ubercarrier Vodafone. There is a 3D Storm there to spin and yaw about in search of the least interesting angle to view it from.

BlackBerry Storm Vodafone launch video

Vodafone and Verizon have been revving their motors to get the first touchscreen BlackBerry out the door, and this video from a presentation just goes to show that the BlackBerry Storm is ready for primetime. The presentation was done in Italy, marking one more spot in Europe that Vodafone will be offering the BlackBerry 9500. What do you guys think? Overhyped, or a solid contender to the iPhone?

Does Leaked Verizon Document Point To BlackBerry Storm Release Timeframe?

Engadget got their hands on an internal new device training schedule that may point to an early November release date for the BlackBerry Storm.

The online BlackBerry Storm course starts on October 17th and runs through November 2nd. One could conclude that if the Storm is released shortly after training is completed, we may see the device towards the beginning of November.
