It’s clear what the near future handsets would look like: devices with full-faced touch screen displays and digicam-beating camera spec. Until another revolutionary device comes along to set a new standard, we’ll be seeing these touch devices real frequently. Rumor is that, one of the newest contenders in the touch screen device market might be Asus.
Images that floated around in a forum sparked the rumors that Asus is prepping a device very similar to the Samsung OMNIA when it comes to looks. The Asus handset will also most probably have WQVGA or WVGA resolution, a 5-megapixel camera like the OMNIA, a trackball, and 3G and WiFi connections. Aside from the ones mentioned, the handset’s specs remain a mystery; that is, if indeed it does exist. If it really does though, I think Asus should stick to its guns and try to make the handset affordable for the masses, or at least be priced competitively compared to other similar phones.
