The Start Your Engines Alarm Clock

If your love of cars isn’t being expressed quite enough in your current home décor, you might check out this alarm.  There have been other alarms similar to this one, but luckily this one is a little cheaper than the others I’ve seen.  If you’re on the lookout for a gift for a guy impossible to buy for and he has a love for cars this would be an easy gift to pick up.  I’m sure he’d get a kick out of waking up to the sound of a high-powered V8 engine.

The Pirate Computer Mouse

It’s not uncommon to see a shiny mouse, decked out with some overly feminine design.  However, there is rarely a mouse seen that uses decals that are just cool as opposed to pretty.  Well this pirate mouse will help you on your way to any devious planning.  The seemingly evil mouse would also be a great tool to pwn noobs and leave angry comments on YouTube or your blog of choice.

Stylophone reborn (again) on iPhone

trilogy3.jpg

It's cute that someone has made a Stylophone simulator for the iPhone, but there's no way I'm about to pay $6 just to dink around with a simulation of what was, let's face it, a fairly annoying little musical instrument in the first place.

BBtv: Freestyle Audio Soundwave underwater MP3 player review

What hath videoblogging wrought? It is my honor and personal shame to present my video review of the Freestyle Audio Soundwave underwater MP3 player. Using the miracle of not showing you my junk, this is my first nude videoblog, but remains safe for work. Except for my dancing, which if everything goes to plan, will induce crippling nausea.

If you'd like a direct download — I'm looking at you, my furry fanbase — then here is a direct MP4 link.

Kim Zetter at Threat Level spoke the jury forewoman who helped convict Lori Drew. The picture that emerges is of a panel unwilling to apply the original felony counts due to lack of evidence. Elecom SDHC cards now in waterproof variant

elecom_sd.jpgWhile I can't think of any gadget that would actually withstand water in its memory card slot, these new waterproof SD cards from Elecom would be good accessories for those that use their gear out on the deep blue sea — if they ever make it to our shores, that is. (Elecom is a Japanese company.)

No price yet, but they'll certainly be much more expensive than a regular card. Perhaps more expensive than a regular card and a waterproof case!

Tier Motorsports R1 concept motorcycle has just one front arm

Tier-Design-One---right---small.jpg

This concept R1 motorcycle has a single-sided front swingarm and four-bar steering system that enables a vertical steering axis that's impossible to recreate with a traditional forked front. Fancy dreamers Tier Motorsports tout the following benefits:

1. More controllable motorcycle on rougher roads. Road imperfections tending to steer the wheel will not be fed back into the handlebars like it does on standard forks equipped motorcycles. This is illustrated here in contrast with a theoretical worst case 90 degrees steering axis (courtesy of Tony Foale):

Find Similar Images Using Live Search

Microsoft's image search engine added another feature that uses image analysis: for each result, you can find similar images. The related images have nothing to do with the original query, so Live Search shows images that include similar patterns.

"With Live Search, you can now use images, rather than additional keyword queries, to refine a search and discover more content," explains Live Search's blog.
